So today, I went out with my one of closest friend, Dory (Nazrul). We were looking for a place to have dinner until we realized that we need to perform our maghrib prayer and I suggested to go to the new mosque in Section 13, Shah Alam. (It's not that new but I haven't been there yet since it was built.)
Hashtag mosque hunter. Get on my level, people. Hehe just kidding.
Anyways, it was raining quiet heavily when we arrived. After we're done with our prayers, we were stucked in the mosque. You have no idea how bad the rain was. This time it wasn't just water falling down from the clouds. Thunderstorms. Ugh! The weather was so bad that it was literally flooding outside. Guys, I. Am. Not. Exaggerating. You can literally see some of slippers floating outside of the mosque. Yeap, it's that bad.
We were both worried that by the time we managed to get in the car, we would be soaking wet. Or worse, got strike by the thunder and die. I meannnn, that would not be a fabulous way to die, right? So, we decided to wait for awhile inside of the mosque. Until the thunderstorms have gone away, at least. But, both of us being... well, us. And by that I meant impatient, of course. 5 minutes (or maybe less) of waiting, we got bored. Both of us thought that we're both tough people and duh, it's just the bloody rain? Come on.
Without even discussing our strategy, Dory ran through the rain and went straight inside of the car. I was shocked. "Did this guy just left me here, all by myself...? " I mean, honestly people, I was so clueless and afraid that if I were to cry, the amount of water coming out of my eyes would be heavier than the rain. Not thinking rationally, I ran too. Halfway to the car, I started to regret my decision. A few steps out from the mosque and I was already soaking wet. I was still running and cursing, until a gentleman (who I swear to god came out of nowhere) offered me to walk with him under his umbrella.
He was walking in front of me but he purposely turned around and walked to me to offer help. He walked with me until I got safely in the car. What could possibly be any sweeter than that? And to be completely honest, if I were that guy, I would have not offered any help to a girl who was already soaking wet. Sure, I would feel bad and all but really though, that girl would have stayed wet even if I did offered help anyway, so, why bother?
Honestly, I don't know what I did to deserve that but I just had to share this story as I feel extremely grateful and happy that I had the chance to witness such kindness. GOSH. Kind people are extremely rare these days that when I got to meet one, I treasure each second spent with them.
To whoever that guy may be, may Allah SWT bless him and repay his kindness.
p/s: Dory wanted to fetch me in front of the mosque. Why didn't I think of that? -_-
